Bella Hadid Almost Missed The Balenciaga Show 'Cos She Lost Her Passport

By Alex Bruce-Smith
Bella Hadid was one of several icons to walk Balenciaga's instantly viral Haute Couture show in Paris, but she very nearly missed it after losing her passport. Honestly? Can relate.
The supermodel managed to join Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa, Naomi Campbell, Nicole Kidman and Selling Sunset villain Christine Quinn (okay) to walk the show after managing to secure a new passport at the eleventh hour.
"Lost my passport. Got a new passport. Landed at 5.30am. Shoot at 7. Show at 12. Made it by the skin of my teeth," she posted on Instagram, tagging Balenciaga's Denma.

She'd documented her passport nightmare on Instagram, sharing a pic of her new passport photos. (Side bar: it is unfathomably unfair how models still look like 10s in their passport photos, while the rest of us look like Night of the Living Dead extras. But that is why they are supermodels, and we are writing about them.)

Thankfully, she made it in time to walk one of the most talked about shows from Paris Couture Week 2022. Bella wore a strapless green ballgown, walking in front of an A-List front row that included Kris Jenner, Michelle Yeoh, Emily Ratajkowski, Tracee Ellis Ross, Offset, Keith Urban, model Alton Mason and drag queen Alexis Stone.

And as for the fashion? It was quintessentially Demna. His second couture collection for Balenciaga was completely unexpected, utterly glamorous, and the next step in Balenciaga's harness (and subversion) of celebrity power. Could model Ajok Madel walk in her resplendent ball gown complete with floor-length veil? Not really, but that's beside the point.
