Selena Gomez is getting ready to take the world into her private life, thanks to a new documentary called My Mind & Me.
As one of the world's most famous musicians, actresses and beauty founders, Gomez's life has been on display for quite some time. But now, she's sharing what goes on behind the scenes with an emotional peek into the trials and tribulations she's been forced to endure.
The forthcoming Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind & Me, is set to be directed by Alek Keshishian who was the famous name behind Madonna's legendary '90s documentary titled Truth or Dare. And while Madonna's documentary is seen as one of the best that the music industry has to offer, fans of Gomez are hoping that hers will do the same for the conversation around mental health.
Other fans have begun pointing out that the six-year period—that the documentary was filmed over—will likely take viewers into the major moments in Gomez's life. While a lot has happened to the star, including launching her increasingly popular brand Rare Beauty, the film will surely cover moments like her kidney transplant as treatment for lupus, her bipolar diagnosis and the cancellation of her Revival tour after needing a mental health break.
Below, everything we know about Selena Gomez's documentary My Mind & Me—from the plot to the release date and where you can watch it in Australia.

What is 'My Mind & Me' about?

While most have simply speculated the contents of the documentary, Apple Original Films shared a press release stating that My Mind & Me is a "uniquely raw and intimate documentary". Not just that, but it is set to show Gomez's highest highs throughout her career while shining a light onto darker moments that she's endured.
"After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness," the press release read.
Per Vulture, Keshishian explained that the idea for the documentary came after he directed the Only Murders In The Building star in her 2015 music video for "Hands To Myself". And writer Matt Jacobs shared on Twitter that My Mind & Me looks to be more in-depth and vulnerable than others out there, explaining that he spoke with the director who "promised it would have more integrity than the other docos of late".

Of course, Gomez's fan base were quick to share their support for the superstar, particularly celebrating her decision to share moments of her life that she's typically remained tight-lipped about.
"'Why is she still talking about this' 'Why is she still talking about that' BECAUSE SHE CAN! simple as that, she chose to drop this documentary when she was ready, not for clout, not for sympathy points and definitely not to prove something to the world, this sh*t is GENUINE," one fan wrote on Twitter.
On September 20, Gomez took to Instagram to share the first teaser for the documentary. The 30-second montage showed clips of Gomez throughout the years, including one where she is laughing with her loved ones and another as she cries alone in a dressing room.
"Wanna hear a part to my story... My Mind & Me. We don't get along sometimes and it gets hard to breathe," Gomez captioned the Instagram post, adding, "But I wouldn't change my life".
