UPDATE: It appears that reports Kim Kardashian had joined Pete Davidson in Australia were a hoax. According to a report in The Guardian, the original 'interview' about Kim and Pete popping into the Botanica Cafe in Cairns' Edge Hill was a joke. The story has since been updated on the ABC's website, with a review is underway to find out how it was published in the first place.
"Honestly this little local joke has turned into an unbelievable mess," Botanica Cafe manager Matt Black reportedly said on Facebook, as per The Guardian.
He had earlier given an interview to the ABC claiming the couple had popped into his venue for breakfast.
"They sent their security detail in, and they had a little look at the menu, then asked if we had room for a couple of private guests, who are hoping to take over the inside," Black had said.
"Sure enough, in walked bloody Kimmy K and Pete Davidson," he said.
"There was just me and my barista, and to be honest, he didn't know who they were, he's really out of the loop with that sort of stuff.
"I took them through, asked them what they were doing, they were very chilled out, super cool and respectful."
Pete Davidson, however, is in Australia, and was spotted at a Timezone this week, where he "mingled with other patrons who took their chance to pose up with the comedian, but was mostly left alone by staff members." Imagine going to a Timezone on a Wednesday night and suddenly SNL star Pete Davidson is there playing skee ball. You'd lose your head.
Pete is set to star in Wizards! alongside Orlando Bloom, who was spotted arriving in Sydney this week with his partner Katy Perry and their one-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. Bloom's 11-year-old son Flynn (whom he shares with Miranda Kerr) was also in tow.
Wizards!, written by David Michôd and based on a story by Michôd and Joel Edgerton, follows "two hapless beach-bar operators (Davidson and Franz Rogowski) who run into trouble when they stumble across stolen loot."
