Kim Kardashian has gone from ruling her reality TV empire to starting a beauty brand and becoming a lawyer, all while going through a divorce. But despite this, and her recent split from boyfriend Pete Davidson, she knows what—or who—she wants next.
Confirming that she is "happily single", the 41-year-old shared that while she isn't looking for a special someone at the moment, she has vowed to change how she searches for a partner, because her past romantic choices haven't panned out like she'd hope they would.
"I haven't really thought about it, because I'm not looking. I just want to chill for a minute. I think I need some time to myself and to focus, finish school, all that," she told host James Corden. "But I think my next route, I feel like I have to do something, like, go to different places. Clearly, it's not working, whatever I'm doing."
On the talk show, Kim joked with the host about what locations she'll scout when she's ready to start dating again, saying she might end up visiting "a hospital and meet a doctor" or "a law firm".
"I think it's going to be, like, scientist, neuroscientist, biochemist, doctor, attorney... That's maybe what I envision in the future," she joked.
As we know, Kim and Pete dated for around nine months, after meeting on the set of Saturday Night Live. However, once the comedian flew to Australia to film the movie Wizards!, the pair chose to part because the long distance was too difficult.
By August 2022, Entertainment Tonight reported that a source claimed Kim felt "the spark between" the pair had "faded". The source went onto add that Pete is "so sweet", but Kim "didn't feel ready for something serious with him".
"They had tons of chemistry, and still do, but she kind of wants to be single and date," the source continued. "Kim still adores Pete and will always be friends with him. She still thinks he's the nicest and sweetest guy in the world and there's no drama or anything weird between them now."
Per People, another source claimed that Pete was "super bummed" about their breakup, insisting that the decision was mutually made between the pair.
"It was an amicable split," the source told the outlet. "They had discussed ending their relationship for a bit. It wasn't sudden. And it was a mutual decision. Getting back together is not in the cards right now."
While they dated, sources claimed that the pair were smitten with one another, with the Staten Island native appearing on The Kardashians and sporting numerous tattoos dedicated to the SKIMS founder.
Before she dated Pete, Kim was notably married to Kanye West for six years, with whom she shares four children: North, Saint Chicago and Psalm.
