Adam Levine is the latest celebrity to be publicly embroiled in a cheating scandal, as his wife of nearly ten years, ex-Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo, recently announced her pregnancy with their third child.
Despite their picture-perfect family image, Instagram model Sumner Stroh came forward with a bombshell allegation that she was romantically involved with the Maroon 5 frontman for over a year.
"Embarrassed I was involved w a man with this utter lack of remorse and respect," she captioned the video, which has already been viewed over 5 million times.
Less than 24 hours after the video was posted, and subsequently went viral, Levine has addressed the claims with a public statement confirming that he did "cross a line", but there's a big "but".
"A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air," he wrote in a statement shared to his Instagram Stories.
"I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner.
"I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life," he added. "In certain instances it became inappropriate; I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.
"My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it. And we will get through it together."
In the video she posted earlier this week, Stroh alleged that when the affair with Levine began, she was "young" and "naïve", with the model being two decades younger than Levine (23 to his 43). After seeing one another for about a year, Stroh said they lost contact until June of this year when things took an even wilder turner.
Levine got back in touch with Stroh via Instagram DM, where she alleges he asked if he could name his unborn child after her.
"Ok serious question," he appears to have messaged her. "I'm having another baby and if it's a boy I really wanna name it Sumner. You okay with that? DEAD serious," he appears to have written, followed by a shrugging emoji.
"I have to be in hell at this point," Stroh tells the camera. "My morals were unknowingly compromised, I was completely manipulated."
She goes on to say that she never wanted to come forward, but, after sharing a few screenshots with people she "thought she could trust" who had allegedly attempted to sell them to the tabloids, she thought it best to control the narrative herself.
Levine and Prinsloo are already parents to daughters Dusty Rose, 5 and Gio Grace, 4, with the African-born model openly speaking about their desire to have a large family.
"We always knew we wanted a second one. So I think for me in those two years, when I had two babies under the age of two, I was just like, 'Don't even think about it!' But I do also want five kids, but don't even think about it," she told Entertainment Tonight last year.
