Gird Your Loins, Bella Hadid Is Doing Everything In Her Power To Bring Back '90s Skinny Eyebrows

Put the tweezers down, we beg you.

While, yes, the revival of our favourite early '00s trends are welcomed, there are some relics from decades past that should, well, stay there.
If you lived through the '90s, then the memory of plucking your brows within an inch of their life surely still gives you cold sweats.
For some, brow hairs met their fate with an overzealous tweezing session, while others (thankfully) grew back into a thick, abundant brow when the Cara Delevingne-inspired beauty trend came full circle in recent years.
But sadly, they say that "good things never last", and now Bella Hadid is proving that proverb right. How? Well, it's all thanks to her new set of brows.
According to the model, gone are the days of fluffy, laminated arches—fare thee well, Soap Brows—and upon us is the final iteration of this year's Y2K transformation.
Recently, Hadid has been sporting the beauty trend, leaving many to wonder if she's trying to make the skinny brow happen (again). In fact, on December 15, the 25-year-old model opted for perhaps her thinnest brows yet, in a photo shared to Instagram.
Leaving no caption, Hadid is seen sipping a drink—presumably from her Kin Euphorics brand—while donning a pink jacket and glamorous up-do. As for beauty, she's modelling a set of smokey eyes, and yes, the long, thin eyebrows we hoped would never return.

For the unacquainted, thin eyebrows were a trend staple from the late '90s and early '00s. With faces like Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera and Kim Kardashian all rocking a set, there was the option to either over-pluck the existing brows or remove them entirely and draw them in from scratch.
As a result, many brows were left sheared into oblivion and a messed-up growth pattern, meaning some were burdened with pencil-thin brows long after the trend was over. Since then, it makes sense as to why the world hoped to never jump on the thin-browed bandwagon ever again, with most tossing out the tweezers in favour of thick, plentiful brows à la Lily Collins.
However, Hadid is clearly keen to come full circle and honestly, we're far from ready for it.

But while we've seemingly put the blame on Hadid, there's no denying that thin eyebrows have been sported by the style set for quite some time.
Creeping their way back into the zeitgeist, the brow trend has been recently spotted on Euphoria star Barbie Ferreira who wore drawn-on brows to this year's Met Gala and musician FKA Twigs who donned thin arches in the "Sum Bout U" music video by 645AR.

Besides, given the increase in bleached brows in recent months—don't think we forgot, Kim K—the minimal brow has been popping up here and there in a variety of iterations.
Prepared or not, skinny eyebrows are inching their way back into the limelight. But don't worry, it doesn't have to be as frightful as it used to be. We suggest taking a leaf out of Hadid's book, and rather than removing hairs, just leave your brows au naturel sans product or styling for a modern twist.
Trust us, step away from the tweezers and preserve those brows—you can thank us later.
